Raw materials are unloaded directly at the green coffee warehouse, and from there the sacks are taken to the system and opened. At this stage the coffee beans are fed into theautomatic filter and storage system.
The green coffee beans then circulate through a magnetic zone which removes all possible metallic impurities, and then the huller removes extraneous material and other organic matter with a size between 3.5mm and 12mm which is different from coffee in terms of density.
After the appropriate filtering, the green coffee beans are stored in separate silos according to lot and quality.
Nandi was the first Portuguese company to install an RFB roasting system (Rotating Fluidized Bed) - this advanced technology uses a rotating fluidised bed.
The system involves hot air roasting without the risk of the coffee beans touching the metallic parts of the equipment, and this allows us to achieve total consistency in the roasting process and also avoid any reduction in the levels of acidity or in terms of aroma.
The cooling system is located outside the roasting chamber, which in turn allows greater thermal uniformity and more precise control of the process.
Other characteristics of the system include:
After having been roasted and cooled, the system then takes the coffee to the roasted coffee silos, where it rests until being sent to the packaging system.
Once packed, the coffee is sent to the finished product warehouse to await delivery to our customers.
